NCAA Basketball recruiting is as competitive as ever at the college level. In fact, some would even say that it is more competitive than it used to be. The fact of the matter is that more and more athletes want to go to college and so they are striving for scholarships. Similarly, there are more schools that want the top athletes and some are willing to do anything to get their man. That is why Florida has such a hard job battling Duke for top athletes. While Florida has great colleges such as the University of Miami and they will always recruit top players, there is a draw and pull that Duke has which cannot be matched easily.

Duke is one of the top colleges in the country and every kid dreams of going there. If a kid was offered a scholarship between duke and a Florida college, chances are they would choose Duke. That is why Florida needs to go above and beyond and offer the student other incentives to join. Helping their family move close to them, or some nice gesture of the sort can go a long way towards the student recognizing how much Florida wants him. That may help them in the recruiting battle.
