Who Is The Greatest High School Team Ever
The greatest high school sports team ever is a tough question. There are over 120,000 high schools in the United States. Which of these rules their city, and then their state, and then their country, to become the greatest? Then they have to become legendary in the ranks of all high school sports, in all of high school history. To me, this may actually be easier than predicted. Using the following factors, we can conclude only one high school. The factors include games won, championships one, winning streaks, durability, and star power. Many high schools exceed at one or two of these factors, but De La Salle High School in Concord, California may be the top in all these areas. From 1992 to 2005 this school won an astonishing 151 straight football games. The previous record was 71, less than half of De La Salle’s record. State championships have been a walk in the park for this elite school, collecting 16 straight. How have they done in national championships you may ask? The lead the country with an amazing six. Four of those national titles were won in a row. They have bred some of the top stars to grace the NFL. Names like Maurice-Jones Drew, linebacker D.J Williams, and New York giants Amani Toomer may ring a bell. Some other lesser known pro players such as Derek Landri, T.J Ward, and Jackie Bates have come from De La Salle. They have had a total of seventeen Professional players originate from this dominate high school. Their coach Bob Ladouceur is said to be the brains behind this football masterpiece. Either way, this team knows how to win and seems like they won’t forget. While other teams have had great seasons, these Spartans continue to dominate high school football. The 151 game winning streaks look to be unbeatable with no competition in sight. This seems to also be true every time this team steps onto the field.
